About Suburban Engineering, LLC.
Meet Collin R. Miller,
Professional Engineer
From a young age I was steeped in building — my father was a union bricklayer, and my step-father a custom home builder. Watching them gave me a sense for real-world challenges: what works on the site, what doesn’t; how good design must align with actual construction.
Since earning my B.S. in Civil Engineering from Penn State University in 2015, I’ve spent over ten years in the structural engineering field, focusing particularly on low- and mid-rise buildings. My work ranges from adaptive reuse of existing structures, to new building construction, as well as smaller residential projects where detail and care are essential.
I hold professional engineering licenses in both Pennsylvania and Delaware, ensuring that your project meets all relevant codes, soils, climate, and regional construction practices.
Honoring a Legacy,
Building the Future
Suburban Engineering LLC was inspired by Frank D. Romano — my maternal grandfather — who laid the foundation for what I do today. After honorable service in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II, Frank founded Suburban Construction Company in South Jersey. Between the late 1960s and the 1980s, his company served as general contractor on numerous residential and commercial projects across New Jersey — delivering craftsmanship, reliability, and timeless structures.
At Suburban Engineering LLC, I carry forward that legacy. Based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, I bring structural engineering services rooted in practical constructability, sound engineering principles, and a deep respect for the built environment.
What Drives Us
Practical, buildable engineering: I strive to deliver designs that are not just safe and code-compliant, but actually buildable without unnecessary complexity or cost overruns.
Legacy of integrity: Inspired by my grandfather’s work, honesty, craftsmanship and long-term value guide everything I do.
Collaboration first: I believe successful projects are built together — with you, with architects, contractors, and all stakeholders aligned.
Value and clarity: I aim to present you with clear, cost-efficient options. No hidden costs, just transparent engineering solutions.
